Entry 45: Nook Commercial

I really love this commercial because it's very relatable. This commercial shows a girl growing up reading and growing into an adult reader that is so because of how reading has been there for her throughout every stage of her life. I think Barnes and Noble did a really good job with this Nook commercial by showing this evolution because of the future of where reading is going and showing that with the Nook. They're saying they'll be there for the transition the way books are there for someone throughout their life.

Entry 44: Mustang Father and Son Commercial

I remembered this commercial from a few years ago, so it definitely stuck with me. I love that this commercial totally embraces the desire for a teenage boy to drive a car like a Mustang, and sharing the experience with his father. I think this commercial uses emotion to show a really great father/son relationship and associating that relationship with the Mustang brand really helps them to establish themselves as more than a sports car brand, and more of a family brand.

Entry 43: Old Navy Dress Commercial

I feel like with this ad, I should find it completely cheesy, but I actually really love it in a guilty pleasure type of way. This ad is obviously appealing only to women, but does so in a very endearing way. I found myself singing this song after I saw this commercial and wanting to see it again. I really like that it features many different Old Navy dresses and shows that these dresses are versatile enough to wear in every day life and not just special occasions.

Entry 42: Michael Buble Starbucks Commercial

I think this commercial is very funny and very endearing. I like the theme that Starbucks is using here that drinking their drinks allows for an escape from reality such as Michael Buble appearing and serenading you. I think the Michael Buble song they used is perfect to give the consumers the idea of Starbucks giving them an escape from their everyday lives.

Entry 41: Mayhem Allstate Commercial

I start laughing every time I watch this commercial. I think Allstate really relates to its audience by showing accidents that consumers could easily see happening to them and needing an insurance who's going to cover them when they do happen. This actor is great, and really epitomizes what it feels like when someone gets in an accident that wasn't there fault. Or even if the accident was their fault, giving them certain circumstances where the accident is nearly unavoidable. The only problem I have with this ad is that it doesn't focus on the Allstate name, so consumers may know that this is an ad for an insurance company, but unsure of which insurance company.

Entry 40: Jim and Pam wedding NBC commercial

Any Office fan is going to completely fall for the line of promos that NBC did to promote the Office Wedding of Jim and Pam. They succeeded in these ads by replaying the best and worse times of Jim and Pam and really making their viewers feel like they've been through the relationship with Jim and Pam and this involves them too. NBC also showed viewers that this episode is Jim and Pam finally getting their happy ending and really promoted it as an Office event, rather than just an episode.

Entry 39: Zales "OMG" Commercial

I love this ad because it completely embraces the idea of men give diamonds to women to buy their affections. I love that it just completely owns up to this instead of trying to hide behind the idea that the material items have to do with their love for their spouse. The Black Keys song playing in the background works perfectly to make Zales stand out from the stereotypical romantic jewelry commercial.
